How to Change Aadhaar Address Without Document Proof
If you don’t have a valid document evidence, you can change your current residence address on your Aadhaar Card with the approval and validation of an address verifier (which might be a family member, friend, landlord, or other person) who agrees to let you use his or her address as evidence.
You may seek a ‘Address Validation Letter’ to change your address in Aadhaar without having to provide any documents. You should keep the following points in mind when getting an Address Validation Letter:
- Your address will be verified by sending a validation letter to the address verifier, which will include a secret code.
- Both the resident and the address verifier must have their cellphone numbers updated with their Aadhaar.
- If the address verifier fails to offer approval within the stated timeframe for any reason, the request will be considered invalid, and the request will have to be resubmitted.
- Step 1: Go to https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ to access the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
- Step 2: Select ‘Update Aadhaar’ from the drop-down menu.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter your Aadhaar number and Captcha Verification code from the provided boxes.
- Step 4: Next, input the 6-digit OTP that was issued to your registered phone number and click ‘Login.’
- Step 5: After that, you must provide your Aadhaar number with the “Address Verifier.”
- Step 6: Your verifier will get an SMS on his or her registered cellphone number with a link to offer approval for the upgrade.
- Step 7: After the verifier taps the link, he or she will receive another SMS requesting OTP verification.
- Step 8: To get a Service Request Phone (SRN) through SMS, complete the verification using the OTP supplied to the registered mobile number and the captcha code.
- Step 9: Now log in with your ‘SRN’, preview the address, make any necessary changes in the local language, and click the ‘Save’ button. Mark the declaration and then click the ‘Submit’ button to send your request.
- Step 10: The ‘Address Validation Letter’ and the ‘Secret Code’ will be mailed to the verifier’s address.
- Step 11: Login to the ‘Online Address Update Portal’ once more and pick the ‘Update Address by Secret Code’ option.
- Step 12: Enter the ‘Secret Code,’ double-check the new address, and submit the request.
You’ll get an Update Request Number (URN) that you may use to track the status of your request in the future.
