How to Delete Instagram Account Permanently
When you delete Instagram account, you will lose all your photos and videos that you have posted all along; even the likes, comments and followers associated with that account. If someone does not want to delete Instagram account, they can definitely deactivate it.

Delete Instagram on iPhone
Earlier for iOS users, you can only delete your account from your browser. But it can be done in the app too.
- Open the Instagram app on your phone
- Tap on the Profile Picture section in the bottom-right corner
- Tap on the three lines in the top-right corner
- Select Settings
- Tap on Account, scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Click on Delete account.
- There will be an option of deleting or deactivating it for the time being.
Disclaimer: If you delete your account, then all your photos, videos, likes and followers will be deleted permanently. But if you want to delete your Instagram account temporarily, it will be deactivated for the time being. You can reactivate that again by logging in your username and password.
After choosing between deleting/disabling, a new page will appear where it will ask ‘Why do you want to delete your account’. Specify the reason why you want to delete your account and click on OK.
Your account will be deleted.
Through Android
If you want to delete your Instagram account through Android, follow the below steps.
- Log into your Instagram account on your Android phone.
- Tap on the Profile Picture section in the bottom-right corner.
- Tab on the tree stacked lines, in the top-right corner of the page
- Click on Settings
- Tap on the Account and scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Click on Help option and select Help Centre
- The page will be redirected to the browser of your choice.
- Select Managing Your Account
- Click on Delete your Account and then on How do I delete my account
- Now click on Delete your Account Page
- A new page will open. Add your ID and password.
- Then choose Not Now option
- You will be given a list of reasons as to why you want to delete your account.
- Select any one of them.
- You cannot delete the Instagram account without password.
- Type in your Password and click on Permanently delete my account
- Choose OK to confirm the deletion.
Laptop or Phone Through a Web Browser
- Open your browser and visit the page https://instagram.com/accounts/remove
- In the dropdown menu, select a reason as to why you want to delete your account
- Enter the required choice of your and click OK.
- Login with your ID and password.
- Click on Permanently delete my account.
Note: If you delete Instagram account without waiting 30 days i.e if you login in within 30 days of the deletion, you can recover your account. If you disable it, you can login anytime to activate the id.
