India achieved the landmark of 1 billion vaccinations, which covers 94% of the population completing the first dose of covid-19 vaccine and 80% of the adults completing both doses. At present, the priority is to vaccinate the school children and a booster dose for adults who are age 60+ suffering from comorbidities.
For Delhi people, the centres have been allotted according to the district plan of Delhi which comprises: North, North-east, North-west, West, South-west, South-east, East, New Delhi, Central, Shahdara, and NCR region comprising: Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Sonepat, Muzaffargarh.

- Use a phone number to get registered.
- Select a centre as per your choice
- Select a slot as per the availability at the centre of your choice
- If you don’t get a slot of your own, you can reschedule it.
How To Register for Covid Vaccine in Delhi?
Here is a step-by-step evaluation for Delhi citizens to register for the Covid-19 vaccine:
1. Register For the Covid-19 Vaccine
The Cowin application is made to facilitate the vaccination drive in India. This application will help you to register for covid-19 vaccine at any vaccination centre near your location, without any hassle.
- First login into ‘http://www.cowin.gov.in’
- Enter a phone number, you want to get registered with. Also, you can book appointments and register through the Aarogya Setu or Umang app.
- Once you have entered the phone number, an OTP (One-time password) will be sent on your phone’s messaging service linked to your number. The OTP is valid for 180 seconds after which it will terminate. If you don’t receive an OTP, refresh the page and enter your phone number again to get a new OTP.
- Once you are logged in, the ‘Registration for vaccination’ page appears. Enter all your details: Your name, Date of birth and any valid identification proof.

2. Add More Beneficiaries To the Registration
- After successful registration, a new page will open with all your ‘Account details’. There is an option to add more beneficiaries to a single registered phone number (Maximum 3 members)
- Enter all the details of other members in the same manner and click on the ‘Add button. After verification, there will be a confirmation message on the successful addition of the beneficiary.
3. Delete Beneficiaries
- Citizens can delete the beneficiaries if they want.
- Login with your ‘username’ and password, click on the dashboard.
- Now click on the ‘delete’ button to delete the added member.
4. Booking Appointment For Covid Vaccine
- From the ‘Account details’ page, one can schedule their appointments.
- Click on the ‘calendar’ button to check the dates you can have.
- The page will reload to ‘Book appointment for vaccination’.
- Search your vaccination centres, according to the district and Pincode of your residential area in Delhi.
Here are different filters available on how to register for the covid vaccine. For instance, the people of South Delhi can go by the district ‘South Delhi’ or by their pin code.
Also, there are various options like age: 12-14, 15-18, 18 and above; which dose you want: Dose 1, Dose 2, Dose 3 or booster dose; if you want to be paid or free vaccine; whichever covid-19 vaccine you prefer. Click on the search button, where the page will reload to the vaccination centres.
On clicking the centre of your choice, the available slots will be displayed.
After selecting a particular slot and centre, click the ‘Book’ button. Your slot for covid-19 vaccine will be booked and the page will display your booking. You will also receive a message on your phone that your appointment has been confirmed.
5. Rescheduling An Appointment
- Once the slot has been booked, you can reschedule it to any time or any other day before the actual day of your appointment.
- Re-login to the Cowin portal. Enter your registered mobile number and fill up the OTP, which again you will receive through SMS.
- Verify your number and check your account details.
- Click on the ‘calendar’ button to reschedule your booking.
- You will be redirected to the page where all the details of the revised slot (time, vaccination centre) are given.
- Once you select the new date, click on ‘Confirm’.
- Once the revised slot is confirmed, you will receive a message through SMS of your new appointment.
6. Updates On Your Covid-19 Vaccine
- Once you get the first dose of the covid vaccine, your entire details (name, date of birth, age, which composition of vaccine has you taken etc.) will be updated on your profile.
- Further, the date for the second dose of the vaccine will be updated. You have to book the slot for a second dose similar to that of the first dose.
- In case you have shifted to any other city, you can take your second dose from the nearest centres over there.
